Here's the final one from my post-flu recovery videos. Hope it's a help to you all. I'm thinking about changing the format of my videos and just giving a more brief demonstration of each study, rather than playing thru all of them. Please feel free to chime in here on this thread and let me know your thoughts about that. My thinking is that it would allow me to put up more drills if I wasn't tied down to playing/recording them completely, then editing, then posting large, rambling video that can be tiresome for anyone but the most die-hard tuba player.
My practice time is sacred with my orchestra schedule being what it is. It's pretty rare that I have 2-4 hours to sit down and do all the little odd jobs that are involved in posting these videos. However, a lot of folks have told me they really enjoy playing along with the videos and that it helps tremendously. So...what do you think?
Also, I'll be branching out in the near future and doing videos called "Pro-tips" that are not necessarily drills, but rather tips on playing, gear, fitness (mental and physical as related to playing), and other areas of interest to tubists. So...there you go. Post below and give me some feedback. I can say without reservation that the support I've gotten from the tuba playing community since starting these videos 5+ years ago has been nothing short of amazing. I can never repay the debt I owe to the players who've influenced me over the years...but I can sure as hell try to pay it forward.

Since you have so much free time, how about putting all of the drills in a book that we can buy?

A keen undergrad or similar could do the write up easy. Few notes and off to a publisher - done! =)Mark wrote:Since you have so much free time, how about putting all of the drills in a book that we can buy?

Maybe do the short version explaining the drill and a simple demo, but do a second video for the play-along crowd.
