Conn 56j knowlege?

I purchased a Conn 56J in August, and I'm just Curious on when the horn was made, if anyone knows please let me know :D :D

They lie on their web site, because the truth is unspeakable.

Have a look at this - Conn Brass Info (Post-Elkhart) - Brass Serial Numbers. I don't know "Mister X" is who collected this information, but he couldn't be making it up. Unfortunately, it sheds no light on the question, but apparently the scheme where you add 50 to get the date was discontinued following '94.

I suspect your Conn 56J s/n786917 was made in the year 2000 or early 2001 at the latest. We sold a couple with s/n 781xxx in the fall 2000.
