I just read in the union paper that a good friend of mine, Kelly Okamoto, passed away in Colorado Springs recently. Kelly was a fine player who studied with Jack Robinson and played in the Colorado Springs Orchestra for @ 25 years. I played for him during the 1984-85 season while he was playing in Taiwan. I am very saddened by his passing and would like to know how and when this happened and if there is anyone with whom I can send a note to. Thanks in advance for this sad news.

I was able to get hold of a friend in Colorado Springs. Kelly Okamoto died after a very long struggle with spinal cancer. You may have known him, you may have not. He was a real stand-up guy, a fine player, and a great musician. Think fondly after one of our fallen brothers. May he rest in peace.
