I believe Wessex made a wooden tuba bugle, I can't find the picture unfortunately.

Manado is a largish city in Sulawesi, Indonesia, looks like a nice place. As always, best to go in person to pick out your ideal choice (and then probably hire a seat to bring it back, but who knows, they might be OK for checked baggage, if they're as light as they look.) I can't guarantee you could actually buy one, but it would make a fun vacation.

I saw a wooden trombone bell once at the B.A.C. Factory. I have a picture of it somewhere. I'll try and dig it up.
