valve align help

Just finished cleaning my 80s era 4/4 Nirschl and glanced up the tuning slide and noticed the 4th valve almost 1/8 out of alignment, then past that looks like the 2nd valve was about the same. My repair guy took some time with this alignment a year or so ago. Maybe the material swelled up with moisture. I could see on at least one of the valves the alignment was equally off up and down. Is there a better material to use than the felt and cork. I don't see the Alan Baer kit for this horn and would feel better to have spacers custom cut for my horn. Also, think about buying a bore scope to check this more often...

Thanks for any help.

Tim J

If you want a pvak just email Alan Baer, he'll probably know what will work for your horn.

Hi Tim! We use black synthetic felts these days. Cheaper, last longer, compress slower. Bloke could mail you some if he knew exact thickness.
