Mira 188 versus 186

Post by jeopardymaster »

I've tried 188s and I've tried 186s. I get a sense that the difference between the models is only from the bottom bow to the bell throat, but I've never put a caliper or measuring tape to either model to see exactly where and by how much they differ. So I offer these questions: what would it take to convert a 186 to a 188, or vice versa? Is it just the matter of 2 sections of pipe? Are they so different that it isn't possible? Does the answer lie somewhere in between?
