It would give a better idea if both ferrules were buffed shiny. But from what I see, the top one is nice yet kinda plain; bottom one has a classier look to it. I personally prefer the bottom ferrule.

If the instrument is prone to break up in loud dynamics, then take the heavier solution.
If not, take the lighter solution for a more responsive feel.
