^Kinda weird that you use valve oil on your slides. I'd think the viscosity would be too thin and dry out too often on slides. For me, I use grease or thick oil like 3-in-1. Depends on the tuba and which slides I need 'moving' or 'stationary'.

I sometimes have the opposite problem:
After generously oiling pistons, slides fall out...
