Prototype

Post by bisontuba »

Hi-
I just received the ‘2nd Generation’ prototype Big Mouth Brass (BMB) J-865 CC BAT 6/4 5v tuba. Due to the weather, I did not have it for MARTEC, but I will have this Saturday in Toronto for TOTES.
I will have it for a short time. Magnificent tuba....killer low range. If you are coming through the WNY area and would like to try it (unless you will be at TOTES), get in touch with me. If you are looking for a 6/4 CC, you MUST play this tuba!!

Not trying to make a big deal out of it, but I'm curious -- has the 5th valve been changed to a mechanical linkage? Or is it still the "rubber band" setup?

Fifth v same so you can adjust lever into one of the holes for ease of reach/ comfort. With mechanical, it would be set up for ‘one size fits all’....
