Case for a Symphonie F

Post by olaness1 »

Hi,

I'm on the lookout for a new flight case for my B&S Symphonie F (5 valve, 1950s). Having some issues finding out where to go and who to order from - I'm in the UK, and not a lot of F tubas around and similarly not a lot of experience with this in the music shops. Will one of the moulded ones from B&S fit the instrument, or would it be a matter of getting something custom made?

Thanks in advance.

Something that can withstand being handled by luggage handlers, and in addition is not so bulky and heavy that it makes flying prohibitively expensive and handling/carrying difficult. Preferably lockable too. I have a gig bag for it for everyday use, so I'm not after one of these hybrid cases with zips (I can't imagine those zips surviving much of the manhandling at airports!), but rather one that'll stay tucked away in the loft when it's not time for getting a flight somewhere.

Just put some of these stickers on the outside with a "do not drop" warning.
