some stuff about a old tuba

So I found a old old Miraphone in the Band hall yesterday. Asked if I could take it home and Director said yes. I played on it for awhile, and horn was nimble but huge. Pretty sure it's a 186, and if it is, it puts the current 186 to shame.

Anyway, I have some questions.

On the 2nd valve, the entire thing rattles when I play. Like a lot. How do you fix it?

I will post serial numbers and pictures, so can you guys tell me what model?

Finally, after you've seen pictures and heard it, can you guys give me a estimate on how much its worth?

Dry Rotor Buzz. The real answer is to remove the rotor, oil it, and reinstall. Usually can't get enough oil to go where you need it just oiling the top and bottom when a horn is that dry. i.e. spill water on a dry dirty driveway and see the bazaar bath it takes on it's path downhill.
