Okay, I have been looking for a bit and am unable to think of how to successfully find what I'm looking for. What bore size on a trombone slide (I believe they are measured on the size of the inner slide bore) has an outer slide bore size of .571".

Maybe that will make sense, if not maybe I'll be able to make more sense of it when I wake up in the morning.

I don't know this for sure, but i would guess that's a 0.547. A 562 slide would leave only 0.003" for inner slide wall thickness, which is too thin. 547 seems right unless its a special Olds or Yamaha 551 bore.

The difference between .571” and .547” is .024”. That would leave very thin wall thickness of the slide stockings, considering that there also has to be romm for slide grease.

A bore of .571” of the outer slide would much more likely match an inner slide bore of .525”. Like the bore of a Bach 36.

OK, I measured my 547 Conn slide, and the ID of the outer slide is .609. My 525 Conn slide is .586. So that might be a 508, 509 or 510 slide. There were even some 515s, I think in some of the Olds or Reynolds instruments.

I am ideally looking for just some straight long tubing, I just figured a trombone slide would be an easier solution.
