Many of you may have heard the Jabba the Hutt solo from the Star Wars movies... but I've been looking around to see if there are any other notable ones and haven't seen much. Does anybody know of any tracks from films that feature tuba soloists? Let me know cause I would love to take a listen to some of them

The Reivers - score by John Williams - long tuba solo near middle of film played by Chester Schmidt
Correction: Tommy Johnson was the soloist - not Chester <> my bad.

No kidding! I just finished listening to
Wild Signals on Spotify. What a coincidence that I'd just heard it and logged into Tubenet here to find this discussion!
I've gotta find myself some parts to this tune and a few double reed players. Just gotta play this tune!
Found this:

There is a nice little solo in the first minute of this clip from "For a Few Dollars More." A great face-off between Lee Van Cleef and Klaus Kinski -

Of course repeating the them from their first encounter earlier ...

Jaws has a mini tuba solo in the beginning:

My teacher came in one time during my sophomore year to show me. He had to do an all John Williams concert, which was apparently a workout.

Tommy Johnson! Love it.
Nope, Jim Self. (Tommy had taken a rare vacation to Hawaii.)

Here’s a few more that I I thought of while drinking my morning coffee. There are many others.
Home Alone 1 and 2 both had tuba solos throughout.
Hook during the food-fight scene.
The Flintstones movie.
Ice Pirates.
The new Lemony Snicket series on Netflix.
L.A. Story, low booming noises...

In the film "The Battle of the Bulge," the Tuba plays the Panzerlied theme in the main title and throughout the film. Soundtrack by Frankel.

Not solos, but featured tubas: Star Trek, The Movie, sections The Cloud and Vejur Flyover. Tommy Johnson and Jim self, both playing F and CC tubas.
