1291 Bb & C valve felt Q

Post by Peach »

Exciting topic huh.
If one was to buy a PVAK designed (presumably) for 1291 C tuba, is it reasonable to assume it would also work on a 1291 Bb Tuba in terms of pad thickness?
The 4th bore on the C is the same as 1-4 on the Bb which is why I presume it would work.
Anyone know...?
Thanks.

I'll do that, yes, only iirc Mr B is no fan of Bb tubas in general so he likely won't know.

I'll also ask Miraphone directly. They seem like nice folk...

I remember when I had the 1291/5 that the valves weren't really that good aligned.
Could be worth looking into

Used the standard "brass-fix UK" felts and a razor blade to trim for adjustments

(wasn't a game changer, but knowing it's close to perfect always helps)

Sorted thanks. For reference, they are the same Bb - C.
