Listed as "Tuba or similar type instrument", 24 inches long with a 10 inch bell and 4 valves.
Is that too small to be a Euphonium?
Is it a tenor horn?
Any and all info/opinions welcome.
Any idea what instrument this is?

Re: Any idea what instrument this is?
It is one of the typical instruments with a lot of names:
it may be for one a small Euphonium (in earlier day they were not so wide built like today), for the next it seems to be a baritone (british) or tenor horn (EU and US). With the main tuning slide between mouthpiece and valves you can call it a (french) saxhorn as well. Italians will call it Flicorno Basso...There is no fixed definition for all those names!
But however you call it, it will sound a bit brighter and less dominant than a modern brass band Euphonium. Looks like an 1970s chinese copy of a 1930s instrument.

Danke Sehr!
If you *had* to take a guess, do you think it's in Bb an octave above a BBb tuba?

Probably a horn from India, in High Pitch. Approximately an octave and a quarter-step above a BBb tuba.

So it is near east, not far east... But still a copy of the typical 1930s Saxhorn/Baritone/Euphonium

Re: Any idea what instrument this is?
Thanks for the input, folks.
I'm not expecting anything amazing - I just fancy a pootle on a Euph to see if I like it, so a cheapo used student instrument seems a good place to start.
Cheers!
