I'm looking for a top-loading gig bag for my new horn (Packer 379Bb, thanks Bloke!) I'm wondering if anybody has had success with the whole suspension system thing. I did a little digging and I'm not seeing a lot of love for these bags, so wondering if maybe I should be looking elsewhere.

Thanks.

For what it's worth, I like my Precieux gig bag

I carried my PT4 around in a Gard mid-suspension bag for about 6 years. The foam pads that go in there got shredded over the years and made a huge mess inside the case. This is likely because of rotor linkages rubbing over time. I had one of the back straps break on me, but luckily I had it secured on the other side. I had it repaired by an industrial textile specialist, so there is no chance it would happen again. I now use a Reunion Blues bag for my yorkbrunner, as I wouldn't trust the Gard with a heavier tuba.
