Hey,
I'm looking for pieces for 3 trombones and tuba. So far I've found:
Tomasi- to be or not to be
schmitt-quatuor op.109
Reynolds- Skirmish and Dance
Casterede - Prelude and dance (which also calls for piano and percussion, which by the way RK doesn't have this so if anyone has any info where to buy it let me know).
SO,
if you have any other suggestions let me know.
Cool,
Bill Pritchard
I'm sick of following my dreams, I'm gonna find out where they are going and hook up with them later

A lot of tuba quartet music will work. You have to be a little careful with the lower range of the Tuba 1 part since that will be handled by the third (bass) trombone. Conversely, if you have a tubist with a good high range, you can also use trombone quartet music.Tubadork wrote:I'm looking for pieces for 3 trombones and tuba. So far I've found: ...

Bill, I'll second Mark's reccomendation for Trombone Quartet music. much of the advanced literature has a REAL bass trombone part, which is very much in the tuba range. I've had great success and fun playing my tuba in a "Trombone Quartet" (3+me). I've gotten some wonderful charts from Dick Wupio's Solid Brass. Check out http://www.sldbrass.com/
Good luck!
