Tuba Naming: Do you do it?, Why do you do it?, Names?

I've been naming my horns for as long as I've been playing. My C is a B&S 3198 that I call Bydlo not after the Picture, but after the translation meaning cattle or cow because compared to what I was used to before I got her, Bydlo felt like a cow. My F is a YFB-621s and her name is Yennifer. I almost always named my horns with a J until I got my very first tuba that I owned. Yennifer was that first horn and I wanted to call her Jennifer, but it felt wrong so I gave it a little Yamaha update, thus Yennifer. I've always had a "problem" about getting honestly sentimentally attached to my horns, like their apart of my little family. Do you name your horns? If so, what are their names? Lastly, why do you name them?

My horns all have nicknames for ME.
A few of them are almost repeatable in polite company.

Boosey & Hawkes Imperial Eb Troglodytes Troglodytes (Indigenus) - aka TT. Named for the original's musical habits
Besson 2-20 Eb Vic (that's where I got him)
Besson 600 Bb The Babe (a very small and cheap 3 valve, but the valves are smooth)
Couesnon Eb Kiddo The roughest on the block

None of them are female - you don't wrestle with a lady in public.

Only name I have is for my 20J- "The Beast". I only use it for those outdoor gigs where there is no acoustical shell, like today's parade where we rode on a flatbed trailer. It's easily the biggest tuba in The Section, which is how it got its name.

One of my section mates calls her Ziess "Loki".

My Yorkmaster 3/4: Toby the Tuba ( my first horn)
My VMI 201: Heidi (named by the original owner. Since its a Gerhard Shciber (sp, I think, sort of) because she's a nice German girl.
My Miraphone 186: Brunhilde. A big German girl. (the horn gifted to me by a fellow ensemble member)
My King sousaphone: K-Rex. KingKing. (also a gift from Jim Newell, Tubameister)

I give some of my instruments nicknames and short names of sorts. They're not very creative but my friends know what I'm referring to when I call them by these.

Besson Brevete BBb tuba: Big-A$$ Besson or B-pher
King 1235 EEb tuba: E-pher
King 5B trombone: My Child
Olds Super trombone: The Olds
Schiller Bb/F trombone: Nickel Shadow
King 2266 baritone: The One-ba (half of a two-ba is a one-ba... right?

When I had a Rudy 5/4 - "Rudy."

Current horns:
PT6 - "My big horn"
182 - "My little horn"
Boston Instrument Co. BBb - "The Bb"

I'm unwaveringly creative.

Why come up with these creative names? "Honey, I've got a rehearsal. I'm taking my big horn." Or - "Yeah, we can all fit in the car. I'm just bringing my little horn." Or - "I know that sounded weird. I was playing the Bb." Or - "Boy that would have been fun to play on Rudy."

The only name that has really stuck is my sousaphone. It is a 32k Lady Face Conn that I picked up in Niagra Falls and she leaves my shirt rather damn at the end of a set. She has been dubbed: "The Maid of the Moist" https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Maid_of_the_Mist" target="_blank

My RM 3/4 CC is occasionally called Regular-Sized-Rudy, after the minor character on Bob's Burgers.

My Conn 20J is "Fiona" after the beautiful ogre in the Shrek movie.
My Martin Medium Bb is "Myrtle Martin".
My Conn 20K is "Suzy". Not very original but it works.
And yes, all female.

I don't have names for my horns in the sense of 'people names' but I do call them by their model name and/or maker.
If its one of my Martins (of which there are several) I use the model name (i.e. the Mammoth, the Indiana, the Committee, the Handcraft, etc.) and If it's not a Martin, I just use the brand name (i.e. the King, The Conn, the Olds, etc.).

I do notice, however, that when using pronouns to refer to my instruments I always seem to say 'she' instead of 'it'. I never really consciously decided to do that, i just seemed to do it without really thinking about it.
I suppose it has something to do with this line of logic:
