I had one for a short while that went to another board member who could better care for it! The valves are currently in Dan's shop and I believe Shane Petit is going to be doing the rest of the work.

Can confirm the above, with an addendum that i believe the valve work is complete and the valves are once more in the mail, and the board member is still severely slacking at finding time for a cross country road trip to pick up the body from the old college friend who is holding it for him to ensure an eventual visit. Distractions/excuses include but are not limited to, concerts, rehearsals, parades, jury duty, hiking trips, car issues of various sorts, and softball.

Further, the board member sincerely apologizes to the world at large for not having anything worth sharing at this point, and in particular, Heliconer, who is still waiting on something dependant on that cross country road trip.

It will happen eventually! And news will get posted here, or in another Del Negro thread as seems fitting.

Thank you for yer patience.

Body fits in the vehicle.

End of September it should be in proximity of the valves again.

There is likely a long list (or set, not to imply there is an order) of more important things ahead of reuniting them.

Out of curiosity,

1) did Holton use this same bugle on other models, or was it unique to the Del Negro model?

2) what is the piston bore of the Del Negro model?

It (the bugle, shape-wise) looks very similar to the York "tall bell" 712 model....

I'm pretty sure that that was Walter Sear's personal horn and he willed it to Eli. I played it at Walter's store in the early 70's, it wasn't in the best of repair, and then a couple years ago at Tom Treece's house. Tom oversaw the rebuild. Cool horn.
