Rudolph Meinl receiver

Post by Ed Jones »

Could someone who has a Rudolph Meinl 5/4 CC tuba measure the length of the mouthpiece receiver? You can contact me via private message. Thank you.

Bloke is correct. My 5/4 Rudy had the receiver built into the leadpipe with only a reinforcement at the end that gave the appearance of a separate receiver.

When I got my Rudy... mouthpieces seemed to fit a bit 'wobbly'. I lightly reamed the receiver with a Jarno reamer but that didn't completely correct the issue and I was concerned about removing too much brass from inside the leadpipe.

I replaced the end of my leadpipe with a late King receiver and all is well.
