Possible? Heck, you may even have an advantage by already having learned the hard way what many of our younger collegues have yet to even appproach!

There are a couple of "older" music majors at the university I attend, and they get along great with everyone.[/i]

I was out of school for almost a decade and a half before returning to college and earning a Music Ed degree (often playing at or above local Performance major standards) by attending school fulltime including summer sessions for 3 and a half years. I found that I had a distinct advantage over most of the "kids" there. Pell grants, academic and music scholarships, and student loans paved the way.

To quote from my son's favorite video game (Viewtiful Joe 2),
"Just Go For It!"

P.S. I am in the process of trying to get a band director job right now and have found there to be a lot less positions and a lot more candidates (many with masters and experience out the wazoo) than I anticipated.
