Nice bling! But I will wait for a transparent one, it should have a much clearer tone...

It makes the Mack we got for less than 2k seem like a rip off!!

I’d wait for one in raw plastic...
Instead of talking to your plants, if you yelled at them would they still grow, but only to be troubled and insecure?

Not sure why the color of a plastic horn would make a difference in the sound. In listening to Youtube videos of the Cool Wind (I considered this before ordering my Mack), it's not a bad sound but one can definitely hear the plastic timbre. Reminds me of the old fiberglass/plastic sousaphones we called Dixie Cup tubas, because they sounded just like we were blowing through a Dixie Cup.

2000 bucks. Barnum was right. I had a black one. Very dark tone. These "horns" are horrid, don't buy one!

A clear one would make it easier to tell where water was accumulating in the horn so you know which way to spin it to drain it out.Snake Charmer wrote:Nice bling! But I will wait for a transparent one, it should have a much clearer tone...

I heard one of those played in a local recital by a very competent player, and the valve clacking was louder than the sound out of it.

The early Cool Winds tubas were not too good. The newer ones are not bad. play one for yourself. Mary Ann's criticism of the valve noise was valid but I think you will find the new ones much better.
