We should all be so lucky to have such a son-in-law (although I'll admit mine is a keeper). Wonderful playing, and a great example for our Texas students to mimic (or try to). I agree with you on us tuba guys learning a thing or two from him. In the 70s the horn teacher at Univ. of Ky was a guy named James London, who left after my first year to become principal horn in the Dallas Symphony and horn teacher at SMU. He had the most beautiful concept of sound I had ever heard, and I took a few private lessons with him just to work toward a corresponding sound on tuba. His replacement, Don Haddad, wasn't bad either. He composed a few things for our tuba ensembles.
