Hi,
What's your experience with an cut tuba made by Bob Rusk. Did he made a good job? Is an uncut Tuba (Holton 345) easyer to play?
I mean the intonation...
Thanks

Isn't the OP a Wessex guy anyway?
My impression is that either way, there is a lot of variation. Build quality was originally all over the place. Add to that the one-off nature of cutting down a tuba, and who knows what the results are. I'm guessing more intonation problems (slide pulling) on CC than BBb, with BBb also being imperfect.

I've played three Rusk cut CC's. Two 345's and a york 6/4. The York was incredible. The Holton's were 'meh'.... I think it's more the beast than Rusk... They were just wackier than my Alex.....
