Just to give my particular example of why i jumped to the L&H conclusiom because of the ferrules.

My experiences with this tuba is really satisfying in a characteristic tuba sound. I am really curious what the old L&H Own Make giants i have seen on tubenet used for franken horns sound like.

Two new data points:

The lay out is slightly different to accommodate fatter pistons, although the bore is about the same, and the bell floats a good 6-8" higher than most sousas, so it is above one's line of sight.

This has an uncommon set of neck and bits.
