Watched the Incredibles DVD and the companion DVD this weekend. The movie was great, but the companion DVD about the making of the movie was very interesting as well.

One section is on the music and how it was done. This was really interesting and in the video of the sound sessions they show Tommy Johnson and a young tuba player with blonde hair that I didn't recognize. They also showed a Cimbasso, but not the player although I assume that might have been Jim Self.

The music was recorded with all the musicians together versus the layering of tracks which is how I guess it is mainly done these days. The director wanted both the music to invoke the 1960's (prominent brass) and wanted it to be recorded like it was back then. The sound director was an old analog guy and makes the statement that brass always sounds better recorded in analog versus digital.

I thought the soundtrack of the movie was excellent. If you have a chance to watch the DVD of the making of the movie I would highly recommend it.
