This is probably a stupid question, but when you re-plate a mouthpiece, does it change the size of the mouthpiece in anyway? I'm looking to re-plate my Dillon-Sheridan O1 mouthpiece

Yes and no. It is the buffing during the prep work, not the actual replating that can change a mouthpiece. I had a favorite mouthpiece that I used regularly for many years. It was given to me used, in silver. The first time I had it goldplated, no problem. Fast forward about 8 years, and I needed to get it replated again, as gold can wear off. This time, they buffed the rim so much (I assume in attempt to get out one nick that never bothered me) that the rim went from being semi round to semi flat. Same great mouthpiece, except now with a different rim. I rarely used it again after that, it sat for almost 8 years until I sold it (to a very happy buyer).

Lesson: Always tell them to buff it as little as possible when you send in a mouthpiece for replating, no matter who you send it to.

The mistake here is buffing out scratches. Far better to burnish them, as it doesn't remove nearly as much material.
