Hello,
I am looking to try a Wedge mouthpiece to see if it will help playing. In the process though it is asking about the shank size, being American or European. I know the 2011FA is made in Germany, but I wasn't sure what this would be.
I understand the American is typically .520 inches and the European is .530".
The Meinl Weston 2011FA has a mouthpiece diameter tube of ~9/16 or .6" (used tape measure for inner dimension) of course that allows the taper to go in for the mouthpiece.
The CKB 7B mouthpiece I currently have fits the 2011FA well, but it measures what seems 1/2 inch, the Conn Helleberg I also have wiggles in the horn a little unless I really push it, but the end of the shank of the mouthpiece is flattened slightly, so it isn't round any longer and is slightly less than 1/2".
As a bonus question, anyone ever use a Wedge mouthpiece?
Thanks in advance.
Nathan

Re: Shank size for Meinl Weston 2011FA
My 2011FA is American shank; I haven't tried a Wedge though.
