I don't know of any other than Mark's, but the Langwill entry on Kaempf is interesting. They say that the company was established by Reinhard A. Kaempf in 1878 and operated as R. A. Kaempf & Son from 1885-1911 in New York City. It looks like his son, Albert sold the company to C.E. Ridgely in 1911 and subsequently worked for Keefer in Williamsport, PA before dying of a "self-inflicted wound." Langwill says nothing about C.E. Ridgely or what he may have done with the company. There must be some sort of story there.

I acquired a Kaempf CC 4 string rotary tuba today with markings R A Kaempf Maker 297 Bowery New York....early American made CC...neat horn
