Not much more than what's mentioned in that article, unfortunately. Rythym section members from those days (with some exceptions, Adrian Rollini, Mike Pingatore, Eddie Lang, etc.) were nearly anonymous.

I was never particularly blown away by his bass sax playing, but Rollini had big shoes to fill.

The German band I'm in has a similarly painted bass drum, like Bob Ross got hold of it.
