Hi all,
I find myself needing to purchase a mute for my Adams Solo F. What are the recommendations of those who've owned the Adams (or its Hirsbrunner predecessor) regarding fit, intonation, etc?
I like the tonal qualities of a wood mute and so I'm looking into the Balu and the Denis Wick wood mutes, but I'm open to other recommendations also.
If the Balu or Wick, which size fits these tubas well?
And I know I could wait until ITEC to try them out, but I need to get my hands on one sooner if possible. And there's really nowhere in or near Northeast Nebraska that I know of to go mute shopping.
Thanks!

Re: Adams/Hirsbrunner F Mute Recommendation
Hello Josh,
I play the Hirsbrunner HB12 F tuba. I own the Humes & Berg aluminum mutes and the Balu mutes. I use the Balu standard size on my Hirsbrunner. It comes with adjustable corks and tunes up very well. The aluminum mutes are quite sharp even with added cork. I also have the large Balu which works great on my Nirschl 6/4 tuba. I can use the standard Balu on my Hirsbrunner and on my Alex CC tuba. I think you will be very pleased with the Balu.
