I am looking to improve my Euphonium chops. What are some undergrad solos/etudes/rep you would recommend?
I have already graduated with a BME with a tuba primary, but would like to get better at teaching euphonium.
Thanks in advance,
Euph Rep

Re: Euph Rep
Standard pieces for euphonium include: "Melodious Etudes for Trombone" by Bordogni/transcribed by Rochut; "6 Sonatas for Trombone and piano" by Johann Ernst Galliard, arr. John Clark; and, of course, Arban.
There are many excellent euphonium players who post on TubeNet. Another source for things euphonium is: http://www.dwerden.com" target="_blank
Good Luck!

Re: Euph Rep
Some of my favorites that come to mind:
Gordon Jacob Fantasia
Brian Bowen Euphonium Music
Jan Bach Concert Variants
Christopher Gallaher Sonatina
Schumann (Droste) five pieces in folk style.
The Jan Bach and Chris Gallaher are probably beyond the "fun to learn" category. The Schumann is a must; it just works perfectly. The Bowen Euphonium Music is a great piece that doesn't get played enough. The Gordon Jacob gets overlooked a bit now but used to be one of the standards. I think it's solid and fun to play.
Oh - and the Bach Cello Suites work really well, at least the first two.
