Hi-
I recently picked up a 48 pg C G Conn Band Instrument catalog from 1914, and towards the back, they list a bunch of available accessories for every instrument. Under 'Bass Accessories' (Tuba) they have listed a 'D' crook for Eb tubas and an 'A' crook for BBb tubas. Not HP/LP crooks, but actual D and A crooks! No images of the crooks, just verbage.....
Just curious if anyone has seen such a crook on a horn?
Tnx
Mark

Fascinating. I'll take one of each. Similar to D slides for Eb/D trumpets. Also, rotor switch to A on old Conn Symphony or Opera trumpets from the 1920's.

I'd like to know who sold sit down Sousaphone-in-a-stand accessories. Many of them had altered lead pipes and bits that allowed you to reach your arm around to the valves, but comfortably toot while sitting beside them...

My Martin catalogue from ca. 1916 also has a d crook available for Eb tubas. Didn't see an A crook for BBbs.
