I attended a recital by oystein baadsvick last spring at tennessee tech, which was an amazing performance. But i didnt get a chance to speak to Mr. Baadsvick, let alone get near his tuba, it looked like he was playing a Miraphone 188, but i'm not sure. I was just curious if anyone has any information on that horn. Is it his personal horn? Or is it a promotional deal between him and miraphone?

Its most likely a Miraphone "Norwegian Star" Eb tuba prototype that he plays now almost exclusively for recitals.

I really liked the sound of his HB on his Tuba Carnival album.

Same here. I like it better than the Miraphone Eb even though I'm a pretty big fan of Miraphones.

it was a beautiful horn, and I am surprised to find out that it was prob. an Eb, makes sense now that I think about it though. He played waltz for mippy, and the effie suite among several others, lots of Grieg.
