Possibly but don't remember. He commented a few years back that he once owned my Rudy 5/4. We spoke a few times and I lost track.

Just curious.

I'm guessing this would be pwhitaker. Last active Oct 28. He once owned my Holton 109, so there's a pattern - large tubas come and go.

He plays in the State Street Traditional Jazz Band, in Portland Maine... they have a FB page, perhaps he can be reached through there?

Or two, if your name is Whittaker. But I think we're on the right track here - I see a 2014 post where pwhitaker says he sold his 5/4 Rudy after he got the Holton 109.

A bit more pwhitaker lore: I sold him my Kanstul 66S. He said the Holton was getting just too heavy to lug around...

Thanks for the detective work, guys. I guess it would have helped if I had gotten the name right from the get-go!

This wasn't anything real important. I just wanted to bring the pedigree of my Rudy up to date.

There's no question about that - it's dreadful. Only 31 lbs, but more than average awkward. An upright (detachable) bell would help a lot.

Thanks for setting me straight on how to spell Pat's name. I did hear from him today. He's had a few issues with simply getting older like some of the rest of us but still monitors TubeNet. Maybe he'll chime in here.

Chiming ...

maybe we should change the name of Tubenet to Tubenest. It's almost like a 2nd home with lots of eccentric relatives. :)

P T Whittaker is from the black sheep branch on our family tree. He sells state of the art sousaphones made in New Delhi featuring a world class sound.

So... he completes with Bloke for sousaphone business?
