Places to play test tubas

Postby Levi12345 » Thu Mar 14, 2019 5:05 pm

I have only ever played a BBb tuba, and I would love to have the chance to play other pitched tubas, are there any places within an hours drive of Evansville, Indiana that one could go to play test tubas? :tuba:

Just make friends with Dan Schultz in Newburgh.

He repairs tubas, and likely gets in all sorts of customers' tubas from time-to-time.
He'd probably let you play-test folks' tubas after they are repaired, if you impress him as a responsible young gent'. :D

Otherwise, I'm a 4-1/2 to 5 hour drive from you down east of Memphis out in the country.

I personally own/use/play tubas in the Bb baritone length (three or four of those), two in F, one in Eb (compensating), two in C, and one in BBb (4-valve sousaphone).

Hey...Besides all of those contraptions, I even have my own waterfall.

Those aren't for sale, but you could play on them for a bit...
I ~DO~ sell tubas as well (new/used in all of those lengths), but don't always have tons of stuff here that is for sale.

I might (??) con you into buying one of my expensive 3-pc. modular stainless steel you might want to leave your checkbook and credit card at home.

Iā€™d try the music department of a public university...
Who needs four valves??
