The music camp that existed for a time at Gunnison, Colorado and later at Morehead, Kentucky in the 1960s had spectacularly good faculty, including Robert Nagel, Tom Beversdorf, William Bell, Harvey Phillips, and William Bell. They also did a lot of recording of their recitals and concerts. The well-known Jacobs recording of the first Strauss Horn Concerto was recorded at Gunnison, and I have an LP of Bell playing and narrating Tubby the Tuba. When I attended the Morehead camp in 1966 I made a reel-to-reel tape of an LP of Bell, Jacobs and Phillips doing Perpetual Motion, by Paganini. I still have this, but haven't tried to listen to it for a long time. Recently I came upon an order form for this recording ($3.50 from the Morehead University Store). Besides the Paganini, the record was advertised as containing Bell doing The Elephant's Tango, by Landes. I wonder whether there might still be copies of this recording around or whether this material has been re-issued in any form?

I have a copy of this that Earl Louder gave me. He may still have some, might be worth reaching out to him.

The Elephant's Tango was from Gunnison in 1961. I digitized this - email me brianf@windsongpress.com" target="_blank" target="_blank
BTW - Go to my webpage at https://www.windsongpress.com/gunnison/" target="_blank and listen to the recording of Les Preludes from Gunnison in 1963. The Tuba section is Bill Bell, Arnold Jacobs and Harvey Phillips! Good stuff!
