My “R. V. Williams Concerto”

Post by Bartok »

Hello everyone!

I played the Ralph Vaughan Williams’ “Concerto for Bass Tuba” a few years ago, and I would like to share the recording with you. I hope you enjoy it!

PS: Sorry for the 3rd movement entrance, hahaha... That’s live!

Best!

Sounds great! Interesting to see what the little Yamaha sounds like with orchestra. Thanks for sharing.

Thank you very much! I did Bach’s arrangement, and it worked very well!!

Thank you! It is a "Romera - Mel Culbertson" mouthpiece. Romera is a mouthpiece builder, who lives in Barcelona (SPAIN).

If this mouthpiece did draw your attention, you would check my CC Tuba mouthpiece it out! It is also a "Romera Mel Culbertson" mouthpiece that I use on my "B&S Mel Culbertson Neptune".

Both mouthpieces are "high mass", but design in this one is very agressive, hehehe... this model is known by "The UFO", here in Spain...

Thats right, I remember that now! Not something you see in the US very often, or ever at all. Have always wanted to try one of those! Do they still make/sell them?

I don’t think so... I think they made similar ones (same measurements), but not this design... Even in Spain is a very strange mouthpiece: I am a professional tuba player and I have not seen a similar one in the last 20 years, more or less...

Gran performance!!!
