B&S mouthpiece receiver size?

Ok, this will be my last self-serving question for a while...

I know this info has been posted before, but I can't find it.

What shank size is intended for B&S tubas? Standard, Euro, or the PT size (this is in-between, right?)
Also, what are the measurements for these shank sizes?

I have all 3 kinds on-hand right now, they all work fine but go in different amounts. Just curious which is "correct".

Thanks! :tuba:

I have found that both the Euro shanks and PT mouthpieces fit just fine. American shanks tend to insert a little too far for my taste.

Thanks!

I agree, the standard goes a little too far in.

What is the measurement for the three sizes?

The right one is the one that plays best.

I think most of the B&S tubas I have dealt with had pretty big receivers that I would classify as Euro or bigger - and sometimes a non-standard taper. That doesn't necessarily mean any particular Euro shank mouthpiece will play well. It's dependent on a combination of the shank fit and the backbore.
