Has anyone had a chance to compare, back to back, the 3 different Gronitz F tuba models? The 125 (4P+R), the 126 (5 rotor) and 127 (6 rotor)? Also, comparing them to MW and B&S and Miraphone comparable configuration models? Thanks.

I have the 4 piston 1 rotor and i think its the closest piston F tuba on the market that sounds like a german rotary F. Pitch is great and extremely responsive. Compared to the size of the Yamaha 822 it is just a tad smaller. Why this model hasn't taken off like other models that dont play nearly as well is something i will never figure out.

The PF 125 is an amazing horn, and Baltimore brass has one for sale right now. I'd buy it if I had the cash.

I have the 125 and it is an amazing horn. It does have it's tuning issues, but for a piston F tuba it is not bad in that regard.

The sound is very brilliant and all registers respond easily. Compared to the B&S horns, I feel the Gronitz is much easier to handle in all registers. You don't really have to "figure out" anything on the horn at all. It's pretty similar to the 1281, but I still think the Gronitz has more zing to the sound.
