Per my email, I initially enjoyed my XD rim on my new Solo cup... but I ultimately decided I like the response and upper register security better without it. Your "Solo" cup does not appear to be taxing my low range either. However, the extra depth did seem to fatten up the tone... just a little bit (darker, rounder, those kind of words).
(Plug alert!) I'm actually selling my Laskey-style XD rim right now to help fund the Imperial cup I'll be ordering from YOU shortly.

This is one of my go to's
I have a solo 2 with the profundo rim, and a solo1 with the Delrin extender ring and a regular rim. I still use the 2 piece models, since I am too cheap to upgrade to the 3 piece.
I use them on both my Miraphone Eb and my Miraphone 187. Sometimes when I play with an orchestra I use a symphony bottom with a regular rim. I do not care for the tone of the solo cup by itself. I feel it is too edgy. I also sometimes will use the imperial cup on the Eb when playing with the Lancaster british brass band. I usualy play the top ?Eb part in that band, so I like the clearer artix.

I used a Solo #1 for a while on my F tuba and it had a really nice bite to the sound however it didn't have the sound I was really looking for. I am trying an imperial cup on my F tuba and CC tuba and it has been the ideal sound for both horns. Just enough zip on CC and mellowed out the F tuba really well!
