Miraphone 1260

I just heard a delightful solo played with the brass band....on a 3 upright valve Eb tuba, which appears to be an old Miraphone 1260. Of course the player is pro level, but it was a marvelous sound. Anybody familiar with these?
My first tuba was a 3 upright valve Eb, but it was a Conn/McClellan and so horribly out of tune with itself that I found it unplayable. It ended up actually at charity because I couldn't in good conscience sell it to someone to actually try to play.
