I knew Art in Connecticut, and he's a great teacher, bandsman, and tuba-tinkerer (besides playing all that great jazz!).

Yeah, Art! This is a perfect opportunity for me to announce that if you would like to hear Art on Long Island, come to Howard Hovey Tuba Day on Friday, November 4 at the Sayville Middle School. The concert begins at 7 pm. I'll post more about it as we approach the event. This will be our 25th anniversary year!

Cannot tell you how much I enjoyed Art Hovey and the guys' work.
