It appears to be an updated version of the R-09, which I have been using for about 8 years. I have two of them. My only complaint is that the power switch on one of them eventually quit working. I still use it a lot, but I have to turn it on by inserting the external power plug or by putting in a battery. Roland makes really good equipment that performs year in and year out.

I don't know if the R-07 can change speeds without changing pitches. I do that with Cool Edit software.
