Mouthpiece Advice

Do I’ve been playing giddiness mouthpieces almost exclusively for years now. I’ve recently switch back to a Mike Finn MF3 for my concert horn. I’m loving how comfortable the rim is. But it’s too heavy for me to use with my sousaphone. I don’t trust the bits. Is there a mouthpiece with a similar rim contour to an MF3 that’s lighter weight? I know a Miraphone C4 has a rounded contour but it’s a little smaller ID. And a loud LM10 has slightly larger ID. I don’t need it be an exact match to the contour and 33mm ID though. Any thoughts and suggestions are appreciated.

Bloke I actually have a 2 piece solo 2 on a shelf somewhere. How familiar are you with an MF3? What diameter W-M do you think would be the closest “feel” to an MF3?

Edit: Unless I missed the point of what you were telling me and you think the 33.3 would match.

You should try out a Schilke 69C4----> 32.76mm rim diameter...8.3mm throat...medium/shallow cup...SUPER comfortable C4 cloned rim and they really get a good buzz unlike a lot of Stainless I have tried.

That sounds like the ticket, if it works out. It seems to me it would be pretty hard to shop mouthpieces by mail order and count on getting something that's a close match. Even rim internal diameter is kind of a rough figure, because of the different ways that can come out, depending on exactly where you measure it.

On the other hand, you might get a Kelly 18 and just see how it works for you.

Check out garibaldi mouthpieces. They can be found at olveramusic online. I recommend the 609 size.
