oval baritone case

Post by jacobg »

Does anyone know where in the US I can get one of those form-fitting bags that are so common in Europe for rotary oval baritones? For that matter, where can I get any kind of case, soft or hard, for an oval shaped baritone in the United States or online?
I wonder if the ebay brand baritone companies sell hard cases.

you might want to check with Roger Lewis at www.wwbw.com and see if he has any cases that might fit. You also might want to check with Joe S., who posts here as "bloke". His politics may be supspect, but he's a top notch and super-honest brass man in Memphis. In addition, you have Matt Walters near you - www.dillonmusic.com.

I offer this with caution, but . . .some of those Ebay baritone/euphs come with a hard case. From the pictures on the web-site, the cases don't look too bad, even though the instruments are probably crap. Since a new hard case, like an MTS, will probably cost you a couple of hundred anyway, you can just buy it, chuck the horn, and keep the case. They do advertise an oval baritone.

Finally, for a soft case, Donna Altieri can make anything you need. Contact her at www.altieribags.com. I've bought a euph bag from her and am very pleased.
