Not that I have any experience with this - my sousaphone has no silver, it gets hot so rarely here that I haven't ever played it on a hot day that I recall, and I'm not sure I'd sweat that much anyway.

But I wonder if it really matters? People are not all identical, and if you have noticed that your sweat is corrosive to silver, then that's that. But otherwise I wouldn't worry about it. When you're done, clean that thing off really well, and it won't be a problem. If the plate is going to wear off where your arm rests there, it's going to wear off anyway whether you sweat a lot, or just a little as we all do without noticing. I'm happy to be set straight on that, as I say there's no experience behind it, but it just doesn't make sense to me that an hour or so of exposure to unusual amounts of average sweat would be an issue.

awesome!!

In the future, I'm pretty sure you could just put "plastidip" or something like that on top of the horn. You can also look at maybe the "wrap" material they use on cars. Heck maybe even some blue saran wrap in a pinch.
