"The Peacocks" for tuba???

If you are familiar with this jazz tune, what would you think of an arrangment for tuba? I have heard it on flute, piano and sax, but think it might be fun, albeit difficult, to pull off on tuba.
Thoughts?
Or, better still, has anyone ever recorded this on a real instrument aka tuba?
It just has this mellow sound that would seem to me to fit the horn.

I recorded "The Peacocks" on my first LP, "Children at Play". It is still available (in limited quantities) from:

I was inspired by the great Bill Evans recording and copped the melody and changes from that record.
The composer Jimmy Rowles was a friend and when I gave him a copy of my record he said in his raspy, jazzy voice " a tuba!, a tuba!, I wrote that for a flute".

You know I thought if anyone had recorded it it should have been you, but I would never have guessed it was on that album. I ordered it today. Is the sheet music available?
I have the Bill Evans recording and one with flute on a mixed jazz CD. I am looking forward to hearing it on the instrument it should have been written for in the first place.
