CJK,
You probably notice she is staring at the Tuba player. Kinda reinforces that you chose the right instrument doesn't it? Pretty blondes do seem to like Big Silver tubas. Well at least the one who "lets me choose" my horns does.

Based on what I can see around "the obstacle"
(as well as looking at the other useful pics at the end of your link), my best guess is a Besson 980 Eb with a Bach Megatone m/p (probably an 18 or larger, from the looks of it) ...

OK, I wonder how good the intonation is with that bottom bow? Looks in good shape, no visible dents or evidence of repair work.
