First Horn, have a question

Hello all I get my first horn tomorrow and yes the excitement is killing me. It has been sitting in a terminal at the airport all weekend so I can only assume all the valves and slides will be completely dried out. Now with my school horn(Rotary old Miraphone) I would use sewing maching oil and then this radio shack electronic parts lube for the slides. Naturally my Horn(Besson 995) will be my baby so I was curious if anyone knew of oils and greases that are easy and low maintenance(Meaning I dont have to lube up every day) I am currently in Phoenix so it needs to be able to withstand hot and dry weather. Thanks in advance for the suggestions.

Can you arrange to send me the 'old' Miraphone?

The Miraphone is owned by my university but if I could I would send it your way.

Try Holton's slide grease . It's the best stuff I have ever used.
It's real thick so you use it spareingly.

Zaja, the company that makes the various scented valve oil products, makes a slide grease that works very well and lasts longer than most others.

I've always been happy with the Radio Shack lube for slides. Lasts months, but then I don't pull slides every day.

Yeah I know, it's not everyday you walk into a music store looking for basic stuff and run into a musician of his caliber. I was in shock when I noticed it was him.
